Fall Leaf-tini
a warm & creamy martini for the start of Autum
It’s been a pretty hectic last few weeks, so I wanted get into feeling cozy and the fall mood, depite it still being very hot and sticky out. Though, it did rain a few days giving it more of a fall feel! Hopefully with this martini, you’ll start to feel a little bit cooler and closer to the leaves and cinnamon brooms!
Should also clarify that these are not cannabis infused! Just had some dried leaves from pruning my old plant and thought they would be fun to use!
Fall is absolutely the best season, mostly for being spooky; but, certainly, for the weather and aesthetics. Colorful leaves spiraling in chill breezes. An earthy musk all around. Foggy mornings turning into misty evenings. The way fashion becomes muted, but with grand shades of olive, ox blood, and ochre. Not to mention, its the offical start of bonfire season and rolls in sweater and fluffy sock weather! It’s got it all.
This spicy sweet drink captures the smells and tastes of Autum with cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, (and other favorite fall spices), blended with citrus, almond, and maple; plus cream to bring in a touch of decadance. The garnish is a roasted bay leaf, to give the look of a fallen leaf and give an earthy, smoky aroma. Wish y’all could smell this through the screen! Scratch & sniff links when?
The spiced syrup used here is homemade but Monin Spiced Brown Sugar syrup, plus some maple syrup is the closest! I’ll make a post with the syrup recipe very soon! Recipe makes one.
YOU’LL NEED:
~ 1 oz amaretto
~ 1 oz triple sec
~ 1 oz spiced syrup / 1/2 oz Monin spiced brown sugar syr. + 1/2 oz maple syr.
~ 2 oz vanilla vodka (used 360, think their flavors come through the best)
~ 1 oz heavy cream
~ ice
~ 1 roasted bay leaf (put bay leaf in oven on broil for 1–3mins/until browned & let cool)
TO MAKE:
- add ice to martini glass to chill
- add all liquors , heavy cream, and ice to cocktail shaker
- shake for 15–30 seconds
- pour into martini glass
- top with leaf & ENJOY!
